Lauri Haapanen is a young Finnish conductor who at present is performing his postgraduate studies in Panula Academy with Professor, Member of Finnish Academy Jorma Panula. He appears regularly with Hämeenlinna city orchestra. Lauri Haapanen has premiered several orchestral works when he was the conductor of What Ever Works -contemporary music festival in Turku from 2014 to 2016.
On international conducting master classes he has conducted Shanghai Opera House Orchestra, Sønderjylland Symphony Orchestra, Janáček Symphony Orchestra, Romanian Royal Camerata -Sinfonietta, Camerata Antonio Soler -Chamber Orchestra and the city orchestras of Kuopio, Lappeenranta, Mikkeli and Vaasa. In conducting studies he has received guidance also from Tuomas Hannikainen, Leif Segerstam and Pertti Pekkanen. Suomen Kulttuurirahasto, Vakka-Suomen Nuorisosäätiö, Alfred Kordelin foundation and Jorma Panula foundation have been supporting Lauri Haapanens career.
